bad mosquito :(

we are all busy whole day, but why mosquito?

markus had his 3rd birthday party in mcdonald and followed a casting in kowloon. we’ve been to toyr’us and had pizza at night. however, markus got 2 mosquito bites while we were leaving my parent home for dinner on saturday. it is a bad mosquito and the bite swell and hurt. i brought him to canossa hospital for outpatient, but doctor recommended him to stay overnight. mom was worry when nurse put the needle into his right hand. he got into bed before 1am with hospital supplied barney vcd. i will stay in hospital with markus and mom is staying at home with jayla.

i am off on monday and planned to go shek o beach for fun. now, i spent my leave in hospital instead. anyway, it’s part of parent life, right?

no worry on markus. he will recover soon when he saw his birthday gift at home. it’s a lot!!

markus potty training

potty training is always a topic for ~2yr kid family blog :)

markus was very insisted to be on potty last year (~1yr) and we were very afraid how he will be in kindergarten from aug 2008.

luckily, we started the potty training in feb-mar, 2008 and i think it took ~10 days to complete. i think we are lucky that he just vee-vee and poo-poo on his underwear ~5 times (and we got a maid to clean them up :). he will tell you if he needs to go potty. he is saving my $ to have only 2 diapers per day (nap and sleep)

first trip for markus and jayla

originally, i have an idea to go australia (sydney and melborne) in nov 2007. however, i think it’s really a long trip to markus and jayla so we will go singapore for 4d3n on nov 19. you may be aware that it’s jayla birthday. we are expecting flight attentants sing song to her during 4-hr flight :) will they kiss daddy?

i’ve been once to singapore for business and it’s my first leisure trip to singapore. i hope we could spend 50% of time in the city (zoo, orchard road, night safari, santosa?) and spend some times in hotel (pool…).

by the way, really appreciate joe’s help to book the trip from cx holiday so i can save hk$6xx :) thanks buddy.

“terrible two”

if you have a kid, you may hear about “terrible two”.

markus was trouble last night. he was shouting for “not to sleep” from 10pm. he just cried “not to milk” and “not to sleep”. i finally put him in bed at 1am. however, he woke up twice at 5am this morning.

yes, time flies again!!

markus is TWO YEARS OLD on july 23.

if you see him recently, he is getting taller (but still below the norm). he recognizes a lot of animals and people, counting from one to ten, singing…. his favorite songs are Alphabet song and Blabla Black Sheep.

we were in gymboree today. irene gave him the first birthday card of this year. as irene announced his birthday in the class, he got some kisses and hugs from girls :P mommy gave him a “computer” from vtech and daddy will give him a BIG curious george story book. we know curious george is markus recent favourite cartoon and i decided to buy this book a month ago. we will not have birthday party this year, but daddy will bring markus to beach if weather permits.

same time next year, markus will join kindergarten and know more friends.

markus sings ABC

we sing a lot with markus and jayla. his favorite includes ‘ABC’, ‘blabla black sheep’, ‘twinkle twinkle little star’ and ‘hit the mosquito (chinese song)’. recently, he is able to sing “ABC” by himself. it’s good for him as he is still under 2 although some words are not clear.

markus sick with serious diarrhea

markus have serious diarrhea from sunday. it’s very serious and his bottom hurt and blood in stool. we visited clinic twice and markus have to stop his milk until he recovered.

we guess he could have bacterial infection after i read this article. thanks camie advice that we should give him electrolyte solution to avoid dehydration.

i hope he could recover soon.

markus can count and jayla can sit!!

my aunties teaching markus to count his fingers yesterday while we were coming back home. today, i try again after work and markus is able to count from 1 to 5. if you say 1, he will say 2 and so on. we used to sing alphabet song with him when we came back from my parent home. he sometimes can follow the rhythm and he can speak some alphabets with us. he learns fast, but dining is still very bad. we have to fight with him for every spoons.

jayla is getting bigger now. she is 12lb now. she could laugh when you talk to her, but will cry crazy if she doesn’t have enough sleep (at least 12 hours). we are expecting she will turn about soon.
