Today is last day of the dive trip. Nothing here is special except the whalesharks. Joe and I did only two dives today and started to clean the gear. Ferry is under maintenance. We have to leave the resort at 5:45 to catch 8:00 ferry to Cebu. We then have to stay in Cebu for 6 hours before we come back to Hong Kong :(

Today is another daytrip to Napantan where we expected to have high current at the wall. However, we have nothing so the dives are pleasant. We were expected to go Channel where we can try the drift diving, but the environment was not safe and we went back to House Reef again. KK and Joe asked to try the jetty. Getting in and out are horrible and very danger. However, we could find frogfish, lionfish and a pair of seahorses.

We have a daytrip to Sonok where is very popular for whaleshark. Dive boat left the resort at 7am as we have to spend 2:30 to the site. We’ve been there over 5 hours. I didn’t find a lot, but a lot of divers could swim with them with great photos. Joe Soo claimed he could have a face2face photo with her as well. Everyone could see the whaleshark and everyone is happy.
I slept from 8pm last night so I am able to wake up at 6am for breakfast (actually, I woke up at 5:33am). My condition is a lot better today so I can type my log after 4 dives. Dives today is so so. We found no whaleshark today, but we are able to see common lionfish, devil fish (aka stone fish), sea turtle, eel, etc. Someone saw sting ray during the night dive.
Again, I hate the night shore dive as I almost fall into the water. We will have whaleshark watching tomorrow from 7am. Better to go bed now.

The trip to the resort wasn’t nice. We took Cebu Pacific 5J239 at 00:50 from Hong Kong to Cebu. We arrived at 03:30 in Cebu and we have to wait for 2 hours in airport for the pickup. We have Philippines traditional breakfast in Pier #1 and we have to wait for another 2 hours for ferry. Then, we need to take 2.5 hours of ferry and coming with 1 hours of van. I can’t sleep at all as they drive fast.
I can’t sleep and we have a checkup shore dive. I hate it and I love it. I hate it because shore diving is horrible while we are getting in and out of water. I love it because the dive is nice and I found Whaleshark. I found 1 big whaleshark with 2 baby whalesharks passing by. They are around 20-30m away from us. No one believes us we found them near during shore diving until KK shows them the video he took. Amazing!!

i haven’t been diving out of hong kong for 2 years. i got an approval from my wife so we are able to go diving again to phililippines. *we* are the same group of people 2 years before i.e. kk, joe and me.
we will join raymond chan’s group to southern leyte where is 3 hrs ferry from cebu city. however, we will take 00:30 flight from hong kong and arrive cebu airport around 03:30. we have to stay in airport or pier for 5 hours until we have the first ferry.
we will stay in peter’s dive resort. i try to bring my laptop to the resort and do my best to update my status.
joe, kk, edward, toppy and i went diving today in basalt island, saikung with diving adventure. visibility was so so, fish gone….
edward was the first time to join local trip in saikung area after his padi certification.

we dive today with ocean sky diver at tsum chau, sai kung. it’s our 2nd experience with ocean sky diver and it’s quite nice (bbq lunch, unlimited dive, all-u-can-eat breakfast and lunch) but a bit expensive as we are not their memebers.
it rain heavy in morning, however, the weather went goods in afternoon and the visibility at the bottom is acceptable (5-10m)
